Happy Mother’s Day!

Today we pray that God will bless all mothers in their vocation and that they will see each of their children as a special gift from God.  Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers of the parish.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION RECEPTION:  Thank you to Mrs. Nancy Kendzior, Mrs. Angie Parsons, and Mrs. Vickie McGuigan (and Chrissy) for setting up, serving, and cleaning up for our reception for the First Communion children and their families.

What a great gift Christ gives us of himself in Holy Communion!

THE GREAT BLESSINGS OF OUR RELIGIOUS ED STUDENTS, TEACHERS AND FAMILIES:            We are truly blessed to have such wonderful students, teachers, and families here at St. Bernardine.  Hopefully, the classes this year brought the children closer to God and more knowledge in the faith.  Thanks especially to our dedicated teachers:  Mrs. Jenni Reimer, Mrs. Jeanne Fuller, Ms. Jeannine Littlejohn, Mrs. Joan Tennent, Ms. Mandy Weldon, Mrs. Lesnie Orsborn, Mrs. Dorothy Turcotte, Mrs. Nancy Sursley, Mrs. Geri Bragiel, Ms. Wendy Downs, and Mr. Patrick Cummings.  We cannot thank you enough for the gift of your faith, your time, and yourselves for the children of the parish.

Thanks to Mrs. Angie Parsons, Mrs. Sandy Birrell, and Mrs. Nancy Kendzior for all of their help distributing snacks every Tuesday.  We are also grateful to all those who have donated snacks to the program throughout the year.

Thank you to our families for your love of God and commitment to the faith of Christ and His Church.  May God continue to bless all of you with His grace and peace.

GRADUATING SENIORS:  Congratulations to all of our seniors graduating from high school.  May God watch over you as you make your mark in the world!  If you are going on to college, please fill out one of the cards from the Michigan Catholic Conference for the Michigan Catholic Campus Ministry available at the doors to church.  Drop it in the collection basket or turn it in to the parish office.

UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN:  This is the last column I will be writing to you at St. Bernardine.  I will take many happy memories of the people I have met and the times that we have shared.  I thank Fr. Sal for the confidence and support he has given me throughout my time here.  Thank you all for your kindness, hospitality, and prayers.  You have helped me to grow in my faith, prayer life, and as a person. .   I will miss you greatly.  Please pray for me as I continue to follow the call of Our Lord.

I give thanks to my God at every remembrance of you, praying always with joy in my every prayer for all of you…(Phil 1:3-4)
