NEWS
Rainbow registrations are due by November 10th. You may go on the website cyodetroit.org and print out a registration form including your module choices and return them to me by November 10th. Checks need to be made out to Our Lady of Refuge not CYO...thanks. Rainbow date is January 29-31.

WYD 2011 to Madrid Spain. Early bird deadline has expired but you may still sign up to go if you are able. Contact Suzanne for details.

We are taking registrations for anyone who wants to be a part of the March for Life on January 21st (leave Thursday evening to travel to Washington DC) return early Saturday morning.

Enrichments coming up:

  • Seminary Tour Wednesday, November 11th. Meet at 5pm in the Social Hall. Carpool down to Sacred Heart Major Seminary. The tour is from 6-7pm afterwards we will go to Buddy’s Pizza on Northwestern Hwy. We will return to OLR approximately 8:30pm
  • Angel’s Place Game Night is November 16th it is in our Social Hall from 6:30-8:30pm just show up and bring a gift...pizza is served.

November 1st

Youth Ministry

REGULAR YOUTH GROUP MEETING TONIGHT! 7-9pm in the youth room above Fr. Bartol Hall. Topic is: Being God Centered in a Self Centered World.

We had a great time at our haunted hayride. 34 teens and 6 adults participated in this fun-filled activity!!

WYD 2011 to Madrid Spain. Early bird deadline has expired but you may still sign up to go if you are able. Contact Suzanne for details.

We will be having our lock in this year at Genysis Health Center (same as last year) and it is a ton of fun. The cost is $22.00 per person. It will be on November 13th. We meet in the youth room at approximately 9:15pm and leave around 9:45pm. We will return around 6am Saturday morning. We will need drivers to and from. Deadline is November 6th, I will need money and permission slip in advance because we buy food etc.

Youth Ministry

NO REGULAR YOUTH GROUP MEETING TONIGHT! We have our haunted hayride scheduled for tonight. We will go out to Blakes Orchard once again.

Our freshmen welcome was a huge success. We had over 50 youth and 6 adults who were having a great time in Father Bartol Hall last week! If you missed it don’t miss out on next weeks meeting we want you there. Thanks to James Hitchcock, Shauna Barcewicz, Brendan Dudley, Paul Schmidt, and Mary Ingweiller for being such great and amazing youth ministers.

We need to decide about WYD 2011 to Madrid Spain. We have had two meetings with plenty of interest so we need to take it to a vote now. Either we attend WYD in Madrid in dormitories or in hotels. The deadline to register is TODAY, October 25th with a $200 deposit.

Thank you so much to our wonderful adults who helped make our Confirmation retreat a spiritual and fun event. Father McEnhill, Marianne Gdowski, Mary Ingweiller, Janet Boyk, Lisa Marie Blanek, Mary Theisen, Dave Theisen, Dave Taras, Tina Meador, John May, James Hitch-cock, and Shauna Barcewicz. We could NOT have done it without you.

Also, thank you to members of the youth group who were a very important part of our day. Gabby Najmolhoda, Joe Hubbard, Ellen Redner, Glen Meador, Walter Mansky, Brianne Ingweiller.

Confirmation News

WILL OUR TEENS HAVE FAITH?
Do yourself a favor as a parent of any age child and plan to attend this hour and a half long talk about the future of our children’s faith. A several year long study produced very interesting information about the direction that our children’s faith is going. This talk is tomorrow night Mon-day, October 19th at 7pm in the Mitchell Family Life Center.

Sunrise Bingo is this Thursday at Sunrise Assisted Living on Pontiac Trail and Green Lake Road. Drop off your student at 6pm and pick them back up at 7:15pm...bring a few prizes for the residents. RSVP to olrsuz@gmail.com.
