Dear OLR Families and Friends,
Thank you Sabrina Sinawi for a job well done. Sabrina was principal for the day on Tuesday and she was a natural. She did a great job!
Thank you also to Mr. Patrick Riney from the West Bloomfield Fire Department who visited our first graders on the 26th. Mr. Riney did a wonderful presentation on fire safety for our children. He taught them how to exit their house in case of a fire, how to “stop, drop and roll”, if your clothes catch on fire and how to move through smoke. Mr. Riney also showed the first graders what a real fireman dresses in for work by putting on all of his gear. Thank you Mr. Riney.
Please parents remind your children to take precautions during the flu season. We are already seeing many of our students ill. Remind them to wash their hands often, cover their mouths when they cough or sneeze and get at least 10 hours of sleep a night. If your child does get sick the rule is to stay home until they are fever free for 24 hours.
Thank you for all of your help.
God Bless,
Ms. Chaney

Dear OLR Families and Friends,
I would like to take this time to correct and error from a previous bulletin. I would like to thank Mr. Turner for all his help with the Walk-A-Thon. I inadvertently thanked Mr. Malone instead of Mr. Turner who was our DJ and kept the event lively. THANK YOU MR. TURNER.
On Friday the kindergarteners and first graders went to Upland Farms for a fun packed day of pumpkin picking, hay riding and donut eating. We can’t wait to hear about all of the fun they had.
On the 28th of October we will have our All Saints’ Day Mass. The children are allowed to dress up as their favorite or patron saint and process into Church. This is always a fun event we encourage everyone to come and join us that day.
God Bless,
Ms. Chaney

Dear OLR Families and Friends,
We have finished IOWA Testing alleluia! It is a great feeling for all of us when testing is finished and we can return to normal. Time is going by quickly, here we are already in the middle of October and we will be celebrating All Saints Day. We do not celebrate Halloween in school but rather we celebrate the saints. October 28th will be our All Saints Day Mass and the children are allowed to dress as their favorite or patron saint for Church that day. Then before you know it Thanksgiving will be upon us.
We had our first “Student of the Month” awards at the October Parents Club meeting. We would like to congratulate the young people for being excellent role models.
God Bless,
Ms. Chaney

Dear OLR Families and Friends,
We had a very successful Walk-A-Thon in spite of the weather. Thank you to Dr. & Mrs. Mansky, Mr. & Mrs. Nelson, Mr. Malone and many parents who came to work and help cheer on our children. It was non-stop motion in the gym that day. Thank you also to Mr. & Mrs. Kassa for supplying popsicles for the children to cool down with after they ran.
For the next two weeks we are doing IOWA Testing. These are very important tests for students. Please make sure that your child gets plenty of rest and a good breakfast so they will be at the top of their game.
A reminder to everyone that the cooler weather looks like it is here to stay so please send a jacket with your child. If it is not raining they will be going outside at lunch time and will need their coats.
Hope everyone will have a great week. Please keep us in your prayers. If you have anything that you would like us to pray for just let us know and we will add you to our list. As a school we pray every morning and as a staff we pray be-fore school every Tuesday and we would be happy to pray for you.
God Bless,
Ms. Chaney
