A Collection to Support Our Priests'
Retirement
With Thanks for Their Service in Christ
This weekend, February 6th and 7th, our parish is taking up a special collection to support our priests’ retirement. With Thanks for Their Service in Christ will help remedy the estimated $24.9 million shortfall in our Priests’ Retirement Fund, which provides a minimal monthly pension as well as health and automobile insurance to priests over the age of 70.
As you may know, the retirement years can be difficult for our senior priests. No longer supported by their parish communities, they rely on minimal Social Security benefits and their pension from the Priests’ Retirement Fund for basic needs, such as food, housing and transportation. Inside this bulletin you will find information and an envelope for your contribution thank you for your continued support.
