Formation
Pre-entrance.  The purpose of the pre-postulancy is to introduce the candidate into the spirit of the community, to deepen her spiritual life, and to strengthen her vocation.

Initial formation.  This includes the Postulancy (one year) and the novitiate (two years) It is a time in which the new member is gradually introduced to the religious life. She is challenged to discover her unique gifts, to deepen her relationship with God, and to prepare for her profession vows and consecration.

Profession of vows.  At the end of the novitiate, the novice, if she perseveres in her religious intent and is considered qualified, consecrates herself to God by the simple vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience. The temporary profession of vows is renewed each year for at least five to eight years. At the end of this period the young religious gives her life to God as a Sister of the Immaculate Conception in her perpetual vows.
