Being good stewards means that we use our gifts and resources to achieve
the goals
of our faith in our day today lives. Our abilities, time and treasures all can be used to
bring the Gospel message to others; a message of faith, hope and love. Using the
Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy as a guide we can look for ways to practice
what we preach. To test our stewardship, we can ask a few questions. How well do
I use my gifts? How can I help advance the Gospel? How well do I share God’s
goodness to me with others? Being a good steward helps me keep God first in my
life.

Stewardship They who supply the seed will find that it multiplies, increasing the harvest
of righteousness. They will be enriched in every way for their generosity, for they
administer public benefit and see to the needs of the Church. Their generosity overflows
in much gratitude to God. Whatever you have –has been given. Whatever you give— will be returned.
Eternal God, help us to use wisely the gifts of the earth that you have bestowed
on us. Give us wisdom to use prudently the talents each one has that come from your hand.
Afford us the insight to see opportunities to serve in the time you have given to us.
Stewardship Prayer
My church is composed of people like me.
I help make it what it is.
It will be friendly, if I am.
It will be holy, if I am.
Its pews will be filled, if I help fill them.
It will do great work, if I work.
It will be prayerful, if I pray.
It will make generous gifts to many causes,
if I am a generous giver.
It will bring others into its worship,
if I invite and bring them.
It will be a church of loyalty and love, of
fearlessness and faith, of compassion,charity,
and mercy, if I who make it what it is, am filled
with these same things.
Therefore, with the help of God, I now dedicate
myself to the task of being all the things that I
want my church to be.
