St. Francis de Sales
( Social Justice Group )

Our mission is to be a prayerful, sensitive, caring, confidential and
helpful presence to families/individuals in need in our parish/
neighborhood community and, by promoting awareness of these
needs, provide a way for every member of our parish to share
their God-given talents/gifts with those less fortunate.
What do we do, you ask
We accept staple food items year round, run food drives at holidays and
as needed. These items are delivered with supplemental grocery certificates
at holidays and monthly, if needed. Members prepare and serve a monthly
luncheon at the West Side Catholic Center. We visit parish shut-ins and
nursing home residents twice per year. The Christmas Angel program begins
in Advent each year. We hold an annual rummage sale to raise money for gift
cards, food to supplement the donations that we receive, and for miscellaneous
expenses. We collect paper supplies annually for the West Side Catholic Center.
Come and visit us!
Anyone can come visit us at a meeting. The meetings are announced in
the bulletin, usually the third Monday each month. Anyone with a caring
attitude, a willingness to help others and a willingness to work is welcome.
