REPAIRS TO THE SACRISTY WINDOWS
At
their May 2009 regular meeting, le Comité des ami.e.s de la
prière
(The Friends of Prayer) decided that they would attempt to repair the
sacristy windows before Mgr. Émilius Goulet's visit to celebrate
the 105th anniversary of the Thibaultville Parish, on July 5, 2009.
Once
removed, it became apparent that the frames were in a reasonable
condition and could easily be repaired, repainted and re-glazed. The
storm windows, on the other hand needed more repairs and two of the
frames were missing and would have to be re-constructed.

Once repaired and sanded, the interior window
frames were painted and made ready for re-glazing. |

Our President, Mrs. Yvonne Fontaine Godard, did
not hesitate to lend a hand with the painting of the storm windows before re-glazing and installing them.

The
storm windows project for
the sacristy was accomplished with the help of the Committee members
and many volunteers from the Richer region. Together, they pooled their
resources donating many hours, talents, and materials. Because of our
strong volunteer base, the estimated cost of several thousand dollars
was reduced to a few hundred dollars. We wish to express our
gratefulness and give a thousand THANK YOU's.
