Ark of the Covenant June 15-22, 2008 marks the International Eucharistic Congress which will be held in Quebec City. This event will provide an opportunity for reflection on the meaning of the Eucharist in the lives of Catholics. In preparation of this event, the Arc of the New Covenant is travelling the country to prepare the way for the Congress. Rich in meaning and symbolism, this work of art allows us to deepen our understanding of the Eucharist. The community of Lorette accepted the Ark from the parish of Sainte-Anne-des-Chênes at Dufresne on the afternoon of August 31. After a short stop at highway 206 the pilgrimage continued on to Lorette where there were prayers behind the church. Following that, the Ark was brought into the church in preparation for prayers, praise and worship, evening mass, quiet adoration, and adoration through the night. The Ark left the community of Lorette on Saturday morning. Below are photos of the handoff from the community of Sainte-Anne and the pilgrimage to Notre Dame de Lorette Church. |
