This
Commission covers the planning and vision of our faith community.
Here we ensure new leaders and ministers are constantly renewed
from parish membership. It is here we plan according to the
promptings of God's Holy Spirit.
A Recent History
In 1988 the parishes of Redcliffe, Scarborough, Kippa-Ring and
Woody Point amalgamated to form Redcliffe City Catholic Community.
Fr John McKeon was appointed parish priest in 1993 and implemented
the vision of one central place of worship. In 1997 the parish
was named Holy Cross Parish - Redcliffe City. The history of
our parish is contained in a separate publication obtainable
from the parish office. On 1 November 1998 (the Feast of All
Saints), Archbishop Bathersby, Bishop John Gerry, together with
clergy, parishioners and many guests opened the new Holy Cross
Church.

In a wonderful demonstration of faith on the Peninsula, this
building was consecrated to Almighty God. Holy Cross Parish
is proud not only of our magnificent new Church but of the unity
it signifies. The symbolisms and many features of the new building
are contained in our publication "A Walking Guide to Holy Cross
Church" obtainable from the Parish Bookstore.
Spiritual Gift Directory
The NetWork program undertaken in 1998 assisted parishioners
to name the spiritual gift they were offered at Baptism. To
date, many are now involved, offering life-giving and fruitful
ministry to the parish. We have assembled a database from which
we are able to draw helpers for various pastoral and social
activities. If you would like to offer your gifts, talents or
skills, please contact the office.
