These two sacraments are prepared in the parish community as directed by the bishop. The sacramental programmes are headed by Sr. Brenda and two teams of catechists.
Applications for either of these sacraments must be through Fr John the parish priest who will then pass this on to appropriate catechetical team. Applicants must be practising Catholics, coming to Mass with some regularity and known to the parish priest.
Each year children over the age of 8 (as of 31 August) are prepared for First Holy Communion. The programme runs through from October to May each year.
Enrolment for First Holy Communion 2008 - parents who wish to receive First Holy Communion in May 2008 should email Fr John with the following information by 15 September 2007:

In accordance with guidance from the Bishop and the Liturgical Committee of the Diocese, Confirmation is for young people over the age of 14. The bishop comes to each parish for this sacrament every three years. Additionally special permission is given for the parish priest to confirm at Pentecost.
Enrolment for Sacrament of Confirmation 2007 - Confirmation will take place on Sunday 27 May (Pentecost) at 10:30 Mass. Candidates must be 14 years or more, and be practising Catholics in our parish with regular attendance at Mass. There will be approximately six instructions which must all be attended. Candidates should email Fr John with their name, address, date of birth and telephone number.
