RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)

This is a programme of adult instruction for adults and young people, who are interested in the teachings of the Catholic Faith. Every parish community shapes its own method of teaching the Faith based on this RCIA model.

Our own parish has a dedicated team of seven parishioners who work together, along with the parish priest, to teach the faith to people who are seeking information about our way of life in Christ. The elements of instruction are shown on the simple outline set below.

The lessons of instruction take place from October until Easter of the following year, on about a two week basis. If after this long process the seeker wants to accept our faith and way of life, they are then received into our faith at the Easter Vigil mass which may involve Baptism or simple acceptance.

If you are interested in finding out more about the Catholic Faith, please make contact with the parish priest Fr John Garrett.
