The Association for the Propagation of the Faith (APF) works to provide pastoral care and to preach the Gospel throughout the world. The Catholic Church has more than a thousand mission dioceses and territories worldwide and the APF is the official mission-funding organisation for the whole Catholic Church.
In England and Wales the APF works with the Mill Hill Missionary Society, and its missionaries, priests, lay brothers and associates work in 27 countries, on each continent.
Funds for the Missions are collected via red collection boxes of which there are around 170,000 in England and Wales. In Saffron Walden, more than 60 homes have one of these famous boxes.
In the year 2005-2006 we collected in excess of £586 in small change.
