Liturgy

St. Mary of the Angels parishioners strive to live our faith in joyful worship  Masses are  in Spanish and in English. For major feasts we join together for a bilingual Mass.

Liturgies are planned and carried out by a dedicated team of musicians, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, altar servers, and artists who work with our pastor and visiting celebrants to create the joyful worship that means so much to all of us.

Special bilingual feasts include, but are not limited to Christmas Eve, all Holy Week services, Pentecost, and Remembering our Beloved Dead Sunday at the beginning of November.  Our Pentecost Mass includes a parish picnic on the lawn.

Choir:  Choirs from both the English and Spanish Mass come together to provide wonderfully multi-cultural music for our special bilingual feasts.

Our combined English/Spanish Choir has participated at the Archdiocesan Black Catholic Revival.  The English-speaking choir specializes in Gospel music and the Spanish-speaking choir sings a rich variety of songs from several Latin American countries.  Both choirs practice together and also include in their repertoire, songs in Lao, thus representing all of the major language groups in the parish.

Grupo Angeles, comprised of six members of the Spanish choir, performs at many local venues.  Their appearances, featuring Latin American spiritual music, as well as Gospel and modern songs, have included performances at Boston College, the Berklee Performance Center, the Christian Science Center, the Jamaica Plain Peace Garden and the Jolgoria Puertoriqueño (as the only Christian group).   Their CD has been very well received.
