Jesuit Connection

St. Mary of the Angels Parish is enriched by a strong connection to Jesuit priests, students, and resources. Our pastor, David Gill, S.J. works with parishioners and his Jesuit colleagues to identify connections that will benefit the parish and also support the Jesuit missions of outreach to parish and community and training of young Jesuits.

Jesuit priests from the New England and abroad have come to St. Mary’s to celebrate Mass.

Students at Weston Jesuit School of Theology volunteer at St. Mary’s, working with parishioners to plan retreats, lead spiritual reflection groups, and plan liturgies.

The Jesuits at Boston College generously offer us Bellarmine House in Cohasset for parish retreats.  The Maryland Province of Jesuits hosts family retreats each summer in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Staff at the Center for Religious Development invite parishioners to training in Spiritual Direction and also co-lead evenings of reflection at the parish during Advent and Lent.

Recently, St. Mary’s parishioners participated in the planning work of the Jesuit Collaborative (, sharing our experience of urban, multicultural ministry with the group.
