St. Mary’s Assigned a NEW PERMANENT Pastor, Fr. Paul Aveni!:St. Mary's was named a new permanent pastor. Fr. Paul Aveni, currently the pastor at St. Mary of the Assumption in Revere, will be our next pastor effective October 1, 2010 and we will share him with St. Thomas Aquinas on Centre St. in JP. St. Mary’s currently has a temporary administrator, Fr. Jim Barry, who will be with us each Tuesday morning for 9am mass in the parish house and will help celebrate the 9am mass Sept. 5th, and Sept. 19th.

No Harvard Fuppies this year: Unfortunately, we will not have Harvard Fuppies volunteering at St. Mary’s this year. We hope to be able to get back on their agency list for next year. In the meantime, we will have both Boston College and Emmanuel College volunteering for us in the next two weeks for single days.

Food Pantry NEEDS plastic & paper grocery bags: Please bring in your bags to the parish house!

Parish Database: Please look over your parish registration information, particularly address, phone and email at the back of the church and update so we have your correct info! Once you have reviewed your sheet please put a check mark in the red box on the left hand corner. It is very important that we know you have checked your info so we have accurate records of our parishioners, especially for mailings and communication.

Egleston Square Shooting Response: As some of you may have heard, there were two shootings in Egleston Square near the corner of Boylston and Washington Streets. Both incidents appear to be gang-related. We would like to respond as a St. Mary's community. If you have any thoughts, ideas, or want to help work on this response, please let Jen, Sr. Virginia, or Joyce Harvey know.

Fall is coming: With the focus on pastor transition and other recent special liturgical/celebratory events there hasn't been the time or resources available to plan a Fall Bazaar/Raffle. Whether these events occur depends on the amount of interest and assistance of parish volunteers and the fall is rapidly approaching.  If you would like to see either of these annual happen and can help, please contact Jen 617-445-1524 x. 3 or jenroysma@gmail.com
