Cycle C - The Year of Luke LENT 2010
Fasting – Fasting is not just about fasting from food, rather it is denying ourselves of anything that keeps us from a deeper relationship with God. For some it may be food, for others it may be alcohol, cigarettes, television, computer use, video games, anger, or gossip.
Prayer – Once we have freed ourselves from that which keeps us away from God, prayer allows us to be open to what God desires for us and being able to express to God the deepest desires of our heart. Almsgiving or Service – Service is our response to God’s unconditional love for us. It is our expression of love of God by reaching out to those in need. To assist families in need, and to help fulfill the third of these supports, we participate each year in Prayer and Reflection Friday, February 26thHealing Mass – Come and experience the healing that only Jesus can give. – 7:30 pm in the Church Sunday, February 28th Inspirational concert celebrating the season of Lent – 3pm in the Church.
