![]() Eucharistic Adoration There is currently no regularly scheduled Eucharistic Adoration at St. Anne Parish. The church is open for parishioners to stop in for private Adoration during normal operating hours.
"The worship given to the Trinity of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit...
must fill our churches also outside the timetable of Masses... This worship must be prominent
in all our encounters with the Blessed Sacrament... Adoration of Christ in this sacrament of love must
also find expression in various forms of Eucharistic devotion: personal prayer before the
Blessed Sacrament, hours of adoration, periods of exposition... Let us be generous with our time
in going to meet him in adoration and in contemplation that is full of faith and ready to make
reparation for the great faults and crimes of the world. May our adoration never cease."
Pope John Paul II
Year of the Eucharist, October 2004 to October 2005
Our Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, has called for a year of special contemplation of the mystery of the
Real Presence of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist.
In addition to the constant belief and teaching of the Church in the Real Presence,
Pope John Paul II has
recently written several documents to reflect on and increase awareness of this great mystery,
and to rekindle the fervent reverence and devotion that the Holy Eucharist and the Eucharistic
Sacrifice of the Mass deserve.
I consider it a great grace to be able to call the whole Church to contemplate, praise, and adore
in a special way this ineffable Sacrament. May the Year of the Eucharist be for everyone
a precious opportunity to grow in awareness of the incomparable treasure which Christ has entrusted
to his Church. May it encourage a more lively and fervent celebration of the Eucharist, leading to
a Christian life transformed by love. (Mane Nobiscum Domine, 29)
Our Archbishop, the Most Reverend Seán P. O'Malley, O.F.M.Cap., has also issued a pastoral letter on the Year of the Eucharist.
This letter can be
accessed from the website for the Archdiocesan newspaper,
The Pilot.
