Purpose

The purpose of the Parish Pastoral Council is to assist the pastor in his leadership role of planning, organizing, initiating, promoting, coordinating, and reviewing the evangelization, worship, religious education, and service activities within the parish.



Objectives

To assess adequately the needs of the whole parish and its members and to develop and implement a parish pastoral plan which will promote the common goal of the parish. To foster unity and a sense of community in the parish and to coordinate all parish activities in a manner that will best serve the interests of the parish.

To promote programs and activities recommended by the Archbishop, Archdiocesan offices and agencies as well as the pastoral council itself.

The council consists of 22 members. The pastor serves as chairperson. The members of the council elect a co-chairperson. Elected members include four each for one, two, and three year terms. Three members are appointed for one-year terms. Four members are returning Parish Pastoral Council members. Finally, there are two youth representatives to the council. The council meets every other month September through June.
