Every deacon and priest is ordained to preach, teach and administer the sacraments. We are ministers of the gospel which is a serious commitment. Consequently each priest, each deacon prays sincerely before preaching so that the Holy Spirit will inspire, counsel and fill his words with conviction, faith and enthusiasm. Yet none of this is going to mean anything without putting the words into action. All of us, priest, deacon, lay person have to live the message. To profess our faith in the Creed is worth nothing unless we do the will of God. We are not called to preach, or to listen to the word of God only, to listen to God’s word without putting it into practice is to live in illusion, and to invite disintegration into our lives. The old adage puts it wisely: “Actions speak louder than words.” St. James said: “Faith without words is useless.”Sincerely yours in Christ, FATHER VIN
