HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY

AND OUR HEARTFELT PRAYERS FOR THE MOTHERS OF OUR PARISH FAMILY. MAY GOD SHOWER YOU WITH HIS MANY BLESSINGS FOR ALL THAT YOU DO FOR YOUR CHURCH AND YOUR FAMILY.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

The Sunday after the Epiphany we celebrated the Baptism of Jesus, the moment Jesus is anointed with the Holy Spirit and He begins His public ministry as Messiah to Israel. For three years His friends listen to Him, see Him work the “signs”, share intimate moments with Him, and then experience the horrible death on the cross. His resurrection gave them hope, joy and the strength to go on. But they were not able to do it by their own will power, or with their own strength because of their friendship with Jesus. They needed help. They needed someone to help them. That someone is the Holy Spirit. He who was with Jesus is now with us, the Church, the body of Christ. We are anointed as Jesus was to “go about doing good works”.

Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN

Congratulations to Dave and Ann Cronin who were featured in this week’s (May 2) Pilot article: Living the Faith. Ann has been the Children’s Choir Director, is presently the Youth Ministry Director and the Teen Drop-in-Center Director and the Director of the Religious Prep. Program, for grades 7-12. As if that is not enough she coordinates, with her husband Dave, the Parish Show, which features our youth, every spring. Dave is the Choir Director, Coordinator of Lectors and Cantors, and is also a Cantor at Mass. Dave also uses his computer skills to comprise the Altar Server assignments, the Eucharistic Minister assignments, as well as those for the Lectors and Cantors. Dave is also a member of the Parish Council. We are proud to present them to the Archdiocese as living witnesses of their faith in action.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PARISH SO FAITHFULLY AND WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO OUR PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.
