FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

How often have you felt that if Jesus remained on earth it would be easier to believe in Him, listen to Him, touch Him and be touched by Him? He left to prepare a place for us to be with Him forever. He sent us the Spirit so that we could believe in Him, listen to Him, see Him, touch Him and be touched by Him. Where does this take place? In the sacraments, in the Word of God, in each other. We “see” Him in ourselves and He sees Himself in us. Just as He could not show the Father to His friends, He does not show us Himself yet. For the time being we have to believe without seeing. The Spirit of God has been given to us, we are not alone, we are united with Christ and with one another. If we believe that, live that, then we are on the right road. We will see Him, we will be with Him, we will be living forever.

Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PARISH SO FAITHFULLY AND WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO OUR PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.

SUNDAY PARISH OFFERTORY – Your Stewardship

04/13/2008 Offering: $6,845.00
Difference for the Week: $1,842.25

Another question from the Parish Pastoral Council:
QUESTION:
AS WE APPROACH THE SEASON OF BUSY WEEKENDS IT CAN BE DIFFICULT TO CHOOSE AN APPROPRIATE SUNDAY MASS. IS IT OKAY TO ATTEND THE SUNDAY MASS AT THE NEW ST. CATHERINE OF SIENNA CHAPEL ON LEXINGTON ST.
ANSWER:
No, the Archdiocese of Boston has informed us that the St. Pius X Society is not in conformity with the regulations from Rome with regard to the celebration of a Latin Mass (Tridentine) and are not in communion with the Holy Father and the Catholic Bishops because of doctrinal and pastoral disagreements.

MARRIAGE

Cardinal Sean O’Malley has directed the Massachusetts Catholic Conference to present an initiative on the vocation of marriage. It is called “The Future Depends on Love”. As part of this initiative, educational material will be developed, What do you think marriage is all about?
