FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

Being a shepherd was hard work. The man worked long hours in all kinds of weather. He had to protect the sheep, sometimes with his own life against marauders, wolves and other predators. He had to see to it that the sheep found grazing and water. That was not easy in a land that was semi-tropical in the summer and harsh in the winter months. Shepherding was a twenty-four hour, seven days a week job. And if it was necessary to go away for business, they could not leave the flock to just anybody. They depended on the sheep for their livelihood and sustenance, for food , milk and wool. The shepherd knew each sheep individually and they knew him, and were on the watch for diseases and parasites. They knew his call, his whistle, his touch, the smell of his garments. There was a bond between them that was unmistakable. The shepherd gave his all for the sheep. No wonder Jesus is called the Good Shepherd who laid down His life for His sheep.

Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PARISH SO FAITHFULLY AND WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO OUR PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.

WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE??

Do you want to make a difference in the world? It is never too early to think about teaching in our Religious Education Program. In September ’08, we will need many good, kind, competent, faith-filled teachers at each grade level. Spring is a good time to come in (or call) and talk to Barbara or Ann about teaching in the different grades. Please give serious consideration to sharing your faith with the young people of our Parish. YOU can make a difference in the life of a child.
