all our deceased loved ones, those whose names are inscribed in our Book of Remembrance, Members of St. Barbara’s Benefactor Society, and the following deceased: Ann Micalizzi; Pauline Bombaci; Joyce & Ken Niven; James Mullen; Irene & William Maher; David Murphy; Lillian MacDonald; Antonina Pastore.

BULLETIN BITS

When Jesus asked the Samaritan woman for a drink of water, He opened the door for a life changing relationship with Him. Scripture says her testimony drew many others to Him as well! We, too, must be ready to respond whenever and wherever the Lord speaks to us and be prepared for it to change our lives!

CATHOLIC APPEAL WEEKEND

Next weekend, March 1st & 2nd, will be Catholic Appeal Weekend here at St. Barbara’s. Cardinal Sean is asking every Catholic household to participate. The Appeal is to our Archdiocese what the weekly offertory is to our parish so your participation and support are critical. Those of you who gave to the Appeal last year should receive a letter from him this week. We invite all others to take home an information packet from Mass this weekend. Please bring your completed pledge card and pledge envelopes with you to St. Barbara’s next week. Thank you.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

It is noon and in the heat of midday Jesus is thirsty and tired. A woman (we don’t get her name) who comes to the well, has no idea who He is. Jesus has planned the meeting. She is given a revelation, this woman who has five husbands. He tells her He is the Messiah. Most of the time He doesn’t want anyone to know that fact, but He tells her – a woman, a Samaritan, and opens her heart to the truth. She came for well water but received more than that. She leaves her jug and in jubilation goes off to the town. She receives the word of life and now, a herald of good news, tells others of Jesus. He changed her life forever. The whole village came out to meet this man, Jesus and found salvation. What can you and I do to let our family, our neighbors, the people we meet that Jesus is Messiah? How can we portray His image?

Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PARISH SO FAITHFULLY AND WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO OUR PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.
