Your support is needed and earnestly requested.

BULLETIN BITS

When he discovered that Mary was with child, Joseph resolved to end their engagement with as little disgrace as possible. But obedient to the voice of God, he changed those plans and became instead the protector of the child Jesus and His mother, Mary. God grant that I may be as open to the leading of the Holy Spirit!

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

Joseph is told by the angel that he must name the child Jesus. It was necessary that the father name his son, especially the first born who would be the son who would receive the inheritance and carry on the family name. In this case Joseph accepts Jesus as his legal son and gives him his name, the name which means Savior. Jesus is born as a member of the royal house of David. That took care of Jesus’ physical descent but we know there is more to Him than that. He is Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and as Paul would say later the man in “whom dwells the fullness of divinity.” He came as our brother that we might this divine life. It is His birthday but He has given us the greatest of gifts: Himself.

Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PARISH SO FAITHFULLY AND WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO OUR PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.
