FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

The accountant in today’s gospel is shrewd. He knows he is going to be fired so he protects his future by rewriting all the accounts. Jesus is not commending his dishonesty but his shrewdness. The man is an opportunist. He knows how to use others to his own advantage. Jesus urges His followers to be as clever, and sharp as business people, who know how to make a good return on their investments. Making sound investments is their main goal in life. What is your main goal in life? What do you invest a lot of time and energy in? Is it money, business, health, family? These things are not bad, but what comes first? Our first choice must be God and His Kingdom, then everything else falls into place. “You cannot give yourselves to God and to money.” Who is our master? Whatever consumes us, and takes first place enslaves us. Is it God or material things?
Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN
