BULLETIN BITS
Like Nathan in today’s first reading, we sin when we begin to feel entitled and act as if what we have is ours by right, when we forget that everything we have is an unmerited gift from God. But God is gracious and forgiving – even when we use His gifts wrongly or squander them thoughtlessly – if, like Nathan, we confess our guilt and ask His pardon.

IT’S ALL ABOUT GOD’S HEALING LOVE
On Wednesday, July 11th at 7:30 p.m. and on every 2nd Wednesday of the month at St. Patrick’s Church in Stoneham, Mass will be celebrated followed by a healing service. All are invited. The life giving presence of Jesus, the Physician of soul and body will be present in the Holy Eucharist!
FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Jesus often did not stay within the parameters of Jewish law and ritual and people accused Him of being a phony, or a devil, or someone who was evil. In today’s gospel He is at dinner in a Pharisee’s home. They were strict observers of the law. A woman, known in town as a prostitute, enters the home and proceeds to wash His feet with her tears and wipe them with her hair. The guests sat in shocked amazement. She does not care. Jesus forgives her sin and sends her on her way. Because she has loved much she has been forgiven much. Do you ever feel that God cannot forgive your sin? Do you ever fear that Jesus is going to catch you in a slip and condemn you to hell? He has no intention of doing so. He can and has forgiven us – our past, present and future sins – and we can give him no greater pleasure than to trust in His complete forgiveness.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN

CATHOLIC CHARITIES NORTH FUNDRAISER
Catholic Charities is assembling a team for The Rodman Ride for Kids, a cycling relay that supports 22 organizations (including Catholic Charities North) who serve at-risk children. We are looking for individuals to help in the following ways:
- *Riders:
- Individuals or families to bike a flat 25, 50 or 100 mile course on Sept. 29 and raise money for Catholic Charities North. Riders don’t need to be experienced cyclists, but should be willing to collect pledges to support the team. Riders must be over 12 years of age and have or borrow a bike. Riders enjoy a BBQ at the end.
- *Pledge collectors:
- Individuals or families to take a pledge sheet to work or social events or help organize a drive or small event to raise money for riders.
- *Sponsors:
- Companies or individuals to make gifts of $1,000 to sponsor a rider on the Catholic Charities North team. All donations go 100% to serve at-risk children and are matched by the Rodman Ride at 15%.
Join the team: contact Sarah Bartley at Catholic Charities North: 781-593-2312 or email sarah_bartley@ccab.org.
HAPPY FATHERS’ DAY
Father Vin, Father Bill, Father Ned and the staff of St. Barbara’s wish all the fathers, brothers, grandfathers and uncles a very Happy Fathers’ Day.
A FATHER’S PRAYER
I am alive, Lord, and I am grateful!
For the strength of my family, their every-morning fresh-again-newness.
I thank You for the strong legs of my running children; for the probing minds of my children in high school and college.
For the “all the world” my wife is to me – how can I thank You enough? You, Lord, are life and all besides. Be everything to me and my family; so that we can, like You, be alive for all who come to us looking for meaning and hope and help.
Amen.
