BANNS OF MARRIAGE
- 1st time – Joseph J. Kilbride & Patricia Mae Buckley
BULLETIN BITS
In today’s Gospel, the disciples suggest that Jesus disperse the crowd so that they may individually seek food and lodging. The miracle of the feeding of the five thousand is Jesus’ powerful reminder that when we share our gifts in His name there is always more than enough!

MARRIAGE AMENDMENT
will again be before the Constitutional Convention of the Massachusetts legislature for Flag Day, June 14, 2007. We have a duty to pass on a strong institution of marriage for the good of future generations. Each of us in the community of faith should exercise our rights as citizens, and urge our legislators to vote to move the Marriage Amendment to the 2008 ballot and allow every citizen’s voice to be heard. Contact your Senator and Representative at 617-722-2000 and ask them to let the people vote. For e-mail addresses go to www.macathconf.org and click on “House” or “Senate” for the legislators’ e-mails.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Jesus is present in the Eucharist, not in the raw, under the appearance of bread and wine. Through the Holy Spirit the bread becomes His sacramental body and the wine, His sacramental blood. People did not understand this truth, thinking that Jesus was initiating some kind of cannibal rite, so they walked away from Him. He meant what He said. At the last supper He was physically alive and present to the apostles when He handed them the bread and wine telling them the bread was His body and the wine His blood. They did not drink His physical blood, or eat His human flesh. As Jews they were forbidden to drink human blood or eat human flesh. The Eucharist is the real, tangible presence of Jesus, a memorial of His death and resurrection until He returns. We pray in the Eucharistic prayer: “And so, Father, we bring you these gifts. We ask you to make them holy by the power of your Spirit, that they may become the body and blood of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, at whose command we celebrate this Eucharist.”
Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN
