BULLETIN BITS

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
How teach about the Trinity, three Persons who are one God? It is not easy if we stay on the theological level and preach on omniscience. omnipotence, one substance, generation, inspiration. The Scriptures make it easier if we understand who each person is by what they do. First of all being one, does not mean the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one and the same person. They are not. Nor are they one person with three different personalities. They are individual persons. Jesus is not the Father and the Holy Spirit is not Jesus. The Father is the Creator of all, even Jesus owes His existence to God the Father. Jesus is the Son, the representative and witness of His Father. The Son is our brother, the new Adam, who redeemed us and in His own flesh brought all flesh, you and I, back to God the Creator. The Holy Spirit, another person, is called by Jesus the Advocate, the defense lawyer, who is with us to empower us and teach us. He bestows His gifts on all Christians, gifts of faith, hope, love, teaching, healing, etc., too numerous to mention, to empower us to put into action the command of Jesus to love God and one another.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN

MARRIAGE AMENDMENT
will again be before the Constitutional Convention of the Massachusetts legislature for Flag Day, June 14, 2007. We have a duty to pass on a strong institution of marriage for the good of future generations. Each of us in the community of faith should exercise our rights as citizens, and urge our legislators to vote to move the Marriage Amendment to the 2008 ballot and allow every citizen’s voice to be heard. Contact your Senator and Representative at 617-722-2000 and ask them to let the people vote. For e-mail addresses go to

A COUPLE OF CLOSING THOUGHTS
- THE UP SIDE
- You may find God in the laughter of your children; the grief of a friend; the opening of forsythias after a long winter; the noisy joyfulness of birds and wind; or the quiet testimony of ants and cobwebs. God’s altar is everywhere and in everything.
- FORGIVENESS
- Forgiveness is the power that enlivens relationships. Forgiveness keeps life moving forward, creates harmony and makes you spiritually strong.
