Happy Mother’s Day and our heartfelt prayers for the mothers of our parish family. May God shower you with his blessings for all that you do for your church and your family.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

We live in the in between time of Christ’s ascension and His return. In the meantime we have His presence in absence if we can speak that way. Jesus is present in the Word of God, and in the sacramental life of the Church, and especially in the Eucharist. Faith assures us that the Risen Christ is real and alive in the Church. He touches us in the Spirit and we in turn are motivated to reach out and touch others in the same Spirit. It is our turn to spread the Good News. Jesus shares with us His peace, and His “Advocate” the defense attorney who will help us in the world. He will defend Christ, and instruct us in how to make Jesus’ teaching relevant to the world today. With the Spirit and Jesus with us we will have His peace and His love and be empowered as the Apostles were to portray His image in the world. We all have a responsibility to do good in this world. That and that alone will ensure our place in Heaven.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PARISH SO FAITHFULLY AND WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO OUR PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.

WELCOME BABIES!

St. Barbara’s Parish Family recently welcomed four new little ones into our midst through the waters of Baptism. We welcome:
  • MADELYN FAYE CORBETT
  • ADRIAN XAVIER GARCIA
  • YUNO JOHN LEE
  • CATHERINE ANNE RAMIREZ.
We ask God’s blessing on these little ones and their families. May you continue to grow in faith here at St. Barbara’s.

THOUGHTS

  • Procrastination is like a credit card… It’s a lot of fun until you get the bill.
  • Action is the antidote to despair.
  • Fall seven times… Stand up eight!
  • The most important trip you may take in life is meeting people half way.
  • There is nothing lost by discarding your faults.
  • Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest.
