SPECIAL EASTER COLLECTION

The monies collected at Easter will be used for retirement, medical, and/or financial needs of priest of the Archdiocese. We would encourage you to give generously to this collection due to the financial difficulties facing the care of priests as rising health care costs and the less than expected investment returns have increased the levels needed for funding. All the priests of the Archdiocese of Boston thank you for supporting us in these challenging times.

BULLETIN BITS

In the second reading today, St. Paul reminds the Colossians that they have been raised with Christ, exhorting them to “think about the things above rather than things of earth.” We, too, have been raised with Christ. Let us rejoice and be glad!

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

Today we greet others with Happy Easter. It is the feast day of all feast days. The resurrection of Jesus is the foundation of our faith. He who was crucified, to the delight of His enemies who wanted Him out of the way, is now alive and well. His spirit reentered the crucified, mangled body in the tomb and raised it up. Remember, He was not buried in the ground, covered with dirt and mud, but laid in a tomb on a stone slab. We can only imagine the surprise in the eyes of those who saw Him on that first Easter day. We have not seen Him, yet we believe. Jesus has made it possible through the gift of faith. Yes, faith is a gift of the Spirit in our lives. Through the Spirit we are in communion with the risen Christ. He lives in us, and we in Him. The Eucharist is our physical bond with the risen Christ, the Spirit our spiritual bond with Him. Body and Spirit we are one in Christ. He promises to raise us up, physically and spiritually, to be with Him forever. That is good news. Happy Easter.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PARISH SO FAITHFULLY AND WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO OUR PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.
