FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

Pilate admits that Jesus is innocent. And yet, He is crucified. He is condemned as a criminal and suffers capital punishment, the worst kind, on a cross, in agony and pain. The crosses were placed on a garbage heap outside the walls of the city, in the sight of all who pass by. The cross was a dreaded, disgraceful form of death. Excommunicated by the priests and people, the condemned man was left for days on the cross as a sign of degradation and humiliation. Everyone hated the cross. It was a hideous sign of rejection and disgrace. The friends of Jesus must have thought: “What kind of a Father would ask his son to die this way?” They were distraught and crushed by the reality of it all. They would have to wait until Easter morning to get their answer. God took the worst kind of death and turned it into life and resurrection. He reversed the world’s wisdom with a plan of His own.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN
