THANK YOU FROM HEARTBEAT
for the many checks totaling $1525 from the recent Baby Bottle Collection. Thirty-eight babies were born to Heartbeat mothers during 2006, including a baby boy born during December who was saved when a mother we had assisted offered our help. Your donations help us accomplish important work! God bless all of you!
FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
If you have ever been hurt by the reaction of others when you were trying to do something good, then you know how Jesus felt in the synagogue that Sabbath day. He was back in Nazareth commenting on the Prophet Isaiah, telling the folks that He was the one Isaiah had written about. They could not fathom this: He was the carpenter’s Son. “What is He talking about?” Jesus reminds them about Elijah and Elisha, two prophets of old. Elijah during a famine kept a food supply going for a widow who was a foreigner; and Elisha cured a leper from Syria. The people got the point. The Jews were rejected for foreigners. And Jesus would go to others also who had more faith in Him than they.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PARISH SO FAITHFULLY AND WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO OUR PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.

CLASSIFIED NOTICE
The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Boston, a Corporation Sole, has prepared a Complaint for the Application of the Doctrine of Cy Pres to be filed with the Supreme Judicial Court of Suffolk County. The Complaint seeks to transfer restricted funds held by the Archdiocese on behalf of 58 closed parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Boston to the welcoming parish (the parish receiving the sacramental records) designated for the closed parish. The Complaint refers only to those restricted funds held in the name of the closed parish and identified as such by the closed parish. It does not reference any other assets of the closed parish. The Complaint deals solely with gifts given to the Promise for Tomorrow Campaign, restricted gifts given pursuant to a written instrument or given pursuant to an oral restriction. The purpose of the Complaint is to allow the welcoming parish to use the restricted funds for the same or a similar charitable purpose as was intended originally. For those parishes currently under canonical appeal and/or civil litigation, restricted funds under the Cy Pres process will not be forwarded to welcoming parishes unless and until any canonical appeal and/or civil litigation has been completed and then only if the parish involved in the appeal or litigation remains closed.
A copy of the Complaint and Exhibits can be viewed on the Archdiocese’s website at http://www.rcab.org. Each parish also has a copy of the Complaint available.
Any questions you may have prior to the filing of this Complaint may be directed to the Archdiocese no later than Feb. 27, 2007. Questions may be made in writing to 2121 Commonwealth Ave., Brighton, MA 02135, Attn: CyPres, or by calling 617-746-5758, Monday thru Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
THANK YOU!!
Thank you for your gifts and donations of $170.00 to our recent Baby Shower. The Pregnancy Help Office of the Archdiocese will gratefully receive this aid to help them serve babies in need.
