A GREAT BIG “THANK YOU”
right from the heart to all St. Barbara’s Family members for the many delicious goodies that have come pouring into the rectory these past few weeks – the cards, candies, fruit, cookies, etc. are all evidence of your thoughtfulness and generosity. They are greatly appreciated and are being thoroughly enjoyed. We, for our part, promise to remember all of you and your families in our Masses and prayers this Christmas season.
WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT YOU??
To all who have assisted us as needed throughout this past year…Lectors, Ushers, Eucharistic Ministers, the members of CALM who deliver plants to the homebound at Christmas and Easter, The Senior Choir, Ministers of Care, Phil Hawley, Leo Bahan & Tony Galluzzo who ably assist us at funerals, to all the ladies who help with the altars, grounds, etc. as needed; to Peg & Arthur Flaherty for the beautiful outdoor decorations, to all the committee members who were responsible for the various Fundraisers throughout the year (so much fun and so beneficial to the parish); and last, but not least, special thanks to Jim Power, our maintenance man, Obudsman and all around “St. Joseph” … always there when you need him. And to all those UNHERALDED parishioners, too numerous to mention, we offer a great big “THANK YOU” for all that you do for St. Barbara’s. God bless you all in the coming year!

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Do you remember when you were twelve years of age? It was a time of new emotions, hormonal surges and an attempt at being independent and original. Today we see Jesus at twelve asserting His manhood. At twelve He was now considered a man by Jewish law and celebrated his Bar Mitzva – His Jewish manhood. Now, you and I know that a young man of twelve is not as mature or experienced as a man of 21, nor was Jesus at the age of twelve. But He knew that He wanted to be busy doing His Father’s work. Most people would have assumed that He meant Joseph. But Mary and Joseph knew He was referring to God, His Father. Yet Jesus, out of respect for His parents’ wishes, goes home with them. Every teenager has been sent by God to do His/Her Father’s work. They are not here by chance, but by divine design.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PARISH SO FAITHFULLY AND WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO OUR PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.

A FEW THOUGHTS FOR THE NEW YEAR
- Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
- If you need help, ask God. If you don’t, thank God.
- Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy.
