WE REMEMBER AT MASS IN A SPECIAL WAY THIS WEEKEND:
all our deceased loved ones, those whose names are inscribed in our Book of Remembrance, Members of St. Barbara’s Benefactor Society, and the following deceased: Charles Sullivan; Marie & Delone Lang; John Sullivan.
BULLETIN BITS
Today’s Gospel provides a blueprint for good stewardship: “Let the man who has two coats give to him who has none. The man who has food should do the same.”
LATIN MASS NOVUS ORDO
Fr. Bill will preside at the 9:00 am Eucharist on Dec. 23rd. The Mass will be celebrated in Latin. This is the Latin Liturgy of the Eucharist of Vatican II. We hope you will participate.
SPECIAL CHRISTMAS COLLECTION
There will be one collection taken up at all the Masses on Christmas for the support of priests of the Archdiocese in order to help with their sick and retirement needs and to help maintain Regina Cleri Home for retired priests (living there at the present time are Father Anadore, Father McMahon and Fr. DeAdder,) Your support is needed and earnestly requested.
ST. BARBARA’S YOUTH GROUP
will be selling Christmas Wreaths & Logs following all Masses this weekend - Dec. 16-17. If you still have last-minute shopping to do, why not consider a pretty wreath or a log to encourage our youth.
FLOWERS FOR THE ALTARS AT CHRISTMAS
If you would like to donate flowers for the altars at Christmas in memory of a loved one, you may leave them at the side entrance of the Church (facing the parking lot) Dec. 19-22. Thank you so much for all you do to make our Church so festive during the holiday season.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Paul writes to the Philippians that Jesus is near. John encourages those He is baptizing to change their life-style because the Messiah is coming. Centuries have passed since these two men lived. But their message is still valuable. We know that Jesus has not returned as he promised. We are still in the waiting period. Nevertheless, until He does return, we are still exhorted by the Word of God to listen and put into practice what we know to be the will of God. And that boils down to one thing: love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus said when He returns He is going to ask one question: “What did you do for your neighbor?” We can all go about doing good, until the return of the Lord. That is within the capability of every person.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PARISH SO FAITHFULLY AND WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO OUR PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA
Sincere thanks to our Breakfast-With-Santa Committee who did a splendid job organizing, setting up, decorating, selling tickets and cooking the delicious breakfast. It was a huge success. Thanks to Santa, to the many youth who again impressed us with their helpfulness and good Christmas Spirit, and to all the parents and patrons who supported the event.
MINUTEMAN SENIOR SERVICES
is a non-profit agency that for 30 years has provided help for home-bound seniors to stay in their homes, safe, comfortable and independent. This year they have a suggested New Year’s Resolution: Serve Seniors in Rest Homes or Nursing Facilities. If you have 2 hours a week you can make a difference in the lives of Lexington and Woburn nursing home residents as an Ombudsman. You will be trained and certified by the Commonwealth to impartially investigate and resolve concerns of residents in long-term care facilities. Advocates are rewarded by the love and appreciation expressed by the frail seniors they serve. Call Sharon or Pamela at 781-861-0896 for more information on how you can help in 2007.
