FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

The Advent theme is this: Jesus is coming again. In the days of the Apostles the Christians expected the second coming of Jesus to be imminent. We are still waiting. Even though we await the coming of Jesus in glory, He is present with us at this present moment. He comes to each person in the Eucharist as He will come to each of us at the moment of our death when we leave the body behind and go to be with the Lord. No one knows when He will re-enter our world, in a manifestation of power and glory and raise up the dead. So we are a people of hope and anticipation. If we live in vigilance and prayer we have nothing to fear.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PARISH SO FAITHFULLY AND WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO OUR PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.

BULLETIN BITS

“Be on guard,” Jesus warns in today’s Gospel, “lest your spirits become bloated with indulgence.” Let us heed his warning and follow the advice of St. Paul, conducting ourselves in a way pleasing to God, overflowing with love for one another.

MINISTERS OF CARE

If anyone who has been bringing Communion home to someone who is ill and using the very small size pyx, does not need it any longer, please return it to the rectory. We want you to keep it if you need it. If not, we have so many calls for the small size, we could use it.

YOUNG-AT-HEARTS

The Morning Glory Bell Ringers will be presenting a program for our Christmas Party at 1 p.m. on Dec. 8th. Please be sure to get here early so you won’t miss their show. Also, on Dec. 9th we will be leaving the church parking lot at 3:15 p.m. for the Christmas Spectacular presented by the Reagle Players in Waltham.

SINCERE THANKS

and congratulations to the committee who organized and skillfully executed the TURKEY TROT SOCIAL last Friday evening. Our gratitude also to all who donated prizes for the raffle; and to all our parishioners and friends who came and had a good time. These social events help us to defray the cost of parish operations and also bring people together in a spirit of warmth and friendship.

THE 2006 COLLECTION FOR RETIRED RELIGIOUS
