BULLETIN BITS

Good stewards must not argue about who is the most important. Today’s Gospel says clearly that those who aspire to greatness must humbly serve the needs of all. Even Jesus came not to be served, but to serve.

P.R.E.P.

As most of you know, every parish and Catholic school in the archdiocese has been mandated to teach the personal safety curriculum, “Talking About Touching”, as part of the curriculum of our religion program for Grades 1 – 6. An information session will be presented by Lillian Hardcastle, on November 16 at 7:30 in the Fr. Anadore hall, for parents to hear about the curriculum, see the lessons, and ask any questions that you may have.

THE CATHOLIC CEMETERY ASSOCIATION

VOTING

We would like to call your attention to Question 3 on the ballot – The Better Child Care Initiative which will help:
  • Raise safety & health standards to protect children
  • Make affordable child care options more available for working parents.
  • Expand training for child care providers to raise the quality of care.
  • Reduce turnover and stabilize the child care profession so children get the consistent quality care they need.

MASS OF REMEMBRANCE

for families of deceased parishioners buried from St. Barbara’s will be held on Sat., Nov. 4th at 9:00 AM. Letters are in the mail and if, by any chance, you did not receive one, please contact the rectory office at 781-933-4130.

JUST A THOT

Blessings are all around for those with eyes to see.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

The Apostles had heard Jesus talk about His crucifixion on three occasions, but they missed the point. James and John want to have special places in His kingdom. They want to be VIP’s, and be second in command. Now, Peter was named the “Rock”, the head, but that made no difference. All of the apostles at one time or another were just as ambitious for reward, title, power, and control. It is not their importance that will give them glory, but their fidelity to the example of Jesus. Jesus redirects their ambition into service. Seats at the right and left of Jesus are not important. It is imitating the Lord that wins glory. To want to be above others is not the way of the Lord. He washed their feet.

The Legislature will meet on Nov. 9th, to vote on the marriage amendment. As citizens we have the right to vote as our conscience dictates. Call your state representative and state senators at the State House at 617-722-2000 and tell them to “Let the People Vote” on traditional marriage. We urge all to vote on Election Day, November 7.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PARISH SO FAITHFULLY AND WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO OUR PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.
