All are welcome to join together in prayer for our priests, our families and friends and ourselves. The next gathering is on Sat., Oct. 14th from 12 Noon-1:15 pm in the church. FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

The Pharisees pose a question to Jesus about divorce. Jesus tells them that Moses allowed divorce because of the stubborness of the people, but the original plan was that marriage is a lasting covenant between husband and wife. Man and woman were created by God, and their mutual love and desire for union is something sacred and personal. Oftentimes the prophets portrayed the love of God for His people as the love of a husband for his wife. Even when Israel betrays Him, commits adultery by worshipping other gods, He still is faithful. His love is not on and off. How many marry today with the unspoken condition that if the marriage works out well, all well and good, if not, we can get a divorce? Sometimes there is more than one marriage, in the quest for happiness and fulfillment. The sacrament of marriage is more than just a civil contract, it is a sacrament, and represents the union of Jesus, the Bridegroom, with His bride, the Church. Like everything else, marriage is a learning process, demanding effort every day to live up to its potential. This can only happen when husband and wife make it happen. The ups and downs, resemble the death and resurrection of Jesus who makes the sacrament of marriage work.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN
