NURSES WANTED!!!

Competitive wages, excellent benefits and parking are offered in a very pleasant atmosphere. BULLETIN BITS

The good steward must not show favoritism. The rich may have many material gifts to share, but Saint James reminds us in the second reading that God has chosen the world’s poor to be rich in faith and inheritors of God’s kingdom.

SANTA CLAUS, THE EASTER BUNNY, AND FR. NED CARROLL - ALL RETURN

The first two don’t have much to say, but Fr. Carroll will talk a lot (!!!) when St. Barbara’s Adult Education Program returns soon. Watch for more information.

BAKERS WANTED

The Special Events Committee is looking for bakers who will bake for two upcoming events. The first is the Fall Festival to be held on Thursday evening, Sept. 14th. This is the dance the Parish is hosting for clients of CMARC. The second event is “1/2 Way to St. Patrick’s Day”, which is being held on Friday, Sept. 15th. We especially want the Fall Festival dance to be a huge success because it is the first time our parish will host an event for CMARC clients. Can you help contribute to the success of both events? Baked goods may be left at Fr. Anadore Hall or at the Rectory on event days. Thank you for helping with parish activities.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

In today’s second reading James tells us not to show partiality in our dealings with others, especially the poor and those who are not influential. It’s so easy to favor those who can do something for us, or give us something. James reminds us that God chose the poor to be rich, not in material goods, but in faith and thus become heirs of the most precious possession, the Kingdom of God. Jesus touched the poor, the leprous, the sinner and who doesn’t need the touch of Jesus? We can be so blind, so deaf, so ignorant of what is really important in life. What about those who no longer speak to each other, who turn deaf to the appeals of those around them? Are we open or closed? Physical deafness or blindness is one thing, but to be blind and deaf to the work of God is another and more tragic deafness and blindness.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
FATHER VIN
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PARISH SO FAITHFULLY AND WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO OUR PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.
