BULLETIN BITS

Jesus is the perfect steward – watching carefully over all who have been entrusted to Him by the Father and then sending them all out into the world in service. May I similarly protect and wisely use the gifts entrusted to me.

FOOD COLLECTION

for families served through Woburn Social Concern will be held this weekend.

PASTORAL PARISH COUNCIL

The next meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Sunday, June 4th after the 11 a.m. Mass. At this time we will welcome the newest members chosen last weekend. They are:
  • Rita Hennessey
  • James & Maureen McGurl
  • Joe Sallese.
Thank you for participating in this selection.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

In today’s Gospel Jesus prays that his friends will live in the same unity that Jesus has with His God and Father. He wants us to be united with God in heart, mind and spirit. That is not an easy task for us to accomplish. We could not do that on out own because, as Paul says, we have been alienated from God because we are sinners. Yet Jesus has taken care of that. He took our sin upon Himself and paid the price. He also sent His Spirit on the Church empowering us to live in unity and love with Him and with one another. There is no possible way to love God with our whole heart, mind and soul and leave others out of the triangle. God is Trinity. He is a communion of persons and we can only love Him by loving one another. Jesus sends us into the world because He needs us to continue His mission. He does not take us out of the world but protects us from the “evil one”. Satan cannot overcome Christ. No matter how bad things become, God’s grace is more powerful. With that truth in mind we cannot give in to despair or discouragement. The triumph of God is seen in the resurrected Christ.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PARISH SO FAITHFULLY AND WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO OUR PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.
