Jesus enters the upper room in His risen body, shows the disciples He is alive and allows them to touch His risen body so they would be sure it was He. And, to prove He is real, He asks for something to eat. They give Him a piece of baked fish. He explains to them that everything written in the Hebrew Scriptures about Him had to happen. In other words, His death was part of God’s plan for Him. Those who perpetrated it were fulfilling God’s will. He handed over His body, He shed His blood for the forgiveness of sins, not just for the nation of Israel but for all who would believe in Him. From Jerusalem the Good News would spread throughout the world – God has forgiven us in Christ. God has adopted us as His sons and daughters, predestined us for eternal life and has poured out His love on us through the Spirit. And if the Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us then He will raise our mortal bodies also. Who doesn’t want to live forever!
NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, NO MATTER WHERE YOU COME FROM, NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE GOING, NO MATTER HOW GOOD OR HOW BAD THINGS MAY SEEM, PLEASE KNOW THAT YOU ARE ALWAYS WELCOME AT ST. BARBARA’S! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
