FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

The disciples are living in fear since the crucifixion of Jesus. The upper room where they had the Passover meal with Jesus is locked because the men are afraid they will be arrested and put to death for following Jesus. Jesus suddenly appears and says to them: “Peace be with you.” They are thrilled. He’s back with them again. Just like old times again This time He breathes on them and says “Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.” He forgives them their infidelities and lack of faith. Now they must give that same forgiveness to others. Thomas is not with them this night, so he refuses to believe until He sees with his own eyes and touches the nail marks in His hands. He is thinking : “How can anyone come back from the dead, especially after dying the horrible death Jesus died?” When Thomas does see Jesus he is overwhelmed with faith. And what does Jesus say? “Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.” That’s you and me and our faith will bring us to life after this life.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PARISH SO FAITHFULLY AND WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO OUR PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.
