FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Alleluia! That is Hebrew for Praise the Lord! And we do today because we believe that Jesus who died on the cross is risen. He enters His crucified body and now glorified, appears to those who loved Him. He “shows” them His hands and His side. He is no ghost but is alive in His human body. His friends are filled with fear, joy, amazement and peace all at the same time. It is going to take time for the apostles and the women to grasp what has happened, so Jesus appears on different occasions to convince them it is really He. For us who are baptized, the resurrection of Jesus is our hope of immortality. We are predestined for eternal life, adopted by the Father, forgiven our sins and heirs with Christ of an eternal inheritance. When our body lies in death we gain an everlasting dwelling place in heaven. Life is changed, not ended. We, too, shall “rise” in glorified bodies on the last day. Now when someone says to you, “How do you know there is life after death, no one ever came back to tell us?” you can say, “One did come back, Jesus Christ.”
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PARISH SO FAITHFULLY AND WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO OUR PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.
