PASTORAL COUNCIL NOMINATIONS

Our parish pastoral council here at St. Barbara’s consists of approximately a dozen parishioners whose job is to advise the pastor on a variety of matters. It is an important job, as they represent you, the parishioners. It is also important that they represent all the members of the parish. We will soon elect new members to our council. We ask you to begin thinking about who you would like to represent you on the council. Perhaps you would like to be a member yourself. On the form below please nominate the candidate you wish to sponsor. Thank you.
I WOULD LIKE TO NOMINATE:
_________________________________________________________
TO BE A MEMBER OF ST. BARBARA’S PARISH COUNCIL.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

Paul tells us that God has had mercy on us, that He has forgiven our sin and brought us to life in Christ. We had nothing to do with it. “This is not your own doing, it is God’s gift; neither is it a reward for anything you have accomplished, so let no one pride himself on it.” There was nothing we could do to save ourselves from death and sin. Jesus did it for us. We are already citizens of heaven. The gift of faith, which we were given at our baptism is our insurance. Jesus paid the policy with His life. The debt is paid in full. We have to be grateful to Him for what He did for us. If we believe in Him, we are predestined. God took care of our “aftercare”. We need only to hold on in faith despite the widespread evil in the world.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PARISH SO FAITHFULLY AND WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO OUR PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.
