CAN YOU HELP??
We are already recruiting teachers for next year’s Religious Education program 2006-2007. Grades 7,8,9,10 are the grades for which we are most in need (Grades 11 & 12 have enough teachers). If you would consider helping out with the program, please come to an information night in the lower rectory on Thursday, March 16th at 7:00 p.m. This will be a good opportunity to get an overview of each grade, to take a look at the books and teaching materials. If you decide then that you would like to volunteer for a particular grade level, you can either teach your own class or team teach with a friend. We really pray you consider this and come to the meeting. For more information, call Ann Cronin 781-933-9334. Thank you.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Abraham waited one hundred years before he had a son by Sarah. And when he is a young boy God asks Abraham to offer him up as a holocaust on Mount Moriah. Abraham must have been crushed but he is willing to do God’s bidding. It was only a test. At the last minute his son is spared. Abraham proved his faith. Yet God did not spare His own son from a sacrificial death. What kind of a God, what kind of a Father would ask His son to die as He did? No one could fathom it’s meaning so Jesus lets Peter, James and John see Him in glory on the mountain. His death was salvation for all. His resurrection is endless life for all. Before He entered into His glory, Jesus had to die. We see temptation and transfiguration in Jesus’ life, and we have our highs and lows in our lives also. One day we, too, shall enter glory.
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PARISH SO FAITHFULLY AND WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO OUR PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.

GIVING
In considering your gifts of time, talents, treasure, we can ask ourselves several questions to aid in our decision whether to join Parish Ministries at St. Barbara’s. In what ways has the gift of someone’s time and talent aided my life and my family? What are the issues or causes that should be supported? What are my special gifts that might be shared with an individual or group? How can I be part of the solution instead or part of the problem? How can I make a positive movement toward the gift of time, talent and treasure to my Church or society at large? In what ways can I give back in thanksgiving for the gift of my life? Source OSV
