The following contains important information regarding Holy Family Center Policies:
Public School children in grades 1 through 10 must attend the weekly classes. However, students attending Catholic School in Grades 2, 9 & 10 do not attend the weekly classes. Instead they will be invited to attend special meetings and gatherings. They will be notified of these events ahead of time.
For those of you who have younger children (Grade 1 & 2), please be aware that a parent or guardian is responsible for bringing the child(ren) into the Holy Family Center. To insure your child's safety, please check in at the attendance desk. (Do not drop your child off and assume he or she has been received safely into the Center). Please feel free to park in the Sacred Heart Parking lot while dropping off your child.
For those of you who have older children, please remind your child(ren) of street safety (crossing at corners, not talking to strangers, etc).
Regarding the Holy Family Center's Snow and Storm Policy:
(1) On a weekday, if public schools in the city of Boston are cancelled for the day, or if children are sent home
early due to snow or storm conditions, THERE WILL BE NO CCD CLASSES. Whenever possible we participate
in School Closing listed with Channels 4, 5, and 7.
(2) If there is ever a threat of a bad storm or severe snow predicted for late afternoon or evening, the Holy
Family Center may have to cancel CCD Classes even though school may have already been in session. In
cases such as these, we will make every effort to contact you ahead of time and/or you can call the center's
answering machine which would state if there would be any cancellation of classes for that day.
(3) If CCD were to be cancelled on a weekend, we will make every effort to contact you ahead of time by
telephone. That is why it is most important that you keep the Center updated with your current telephone
number. Sadly, the TV Stations usually do not accept cancellation listings on the weekend.
(4) There are also those times when unique situations occur (Flooding, loss of electricity, or heat, etc). In
cases such as these, a sign will be posted on our front door stating that we are closed. So please never
just drop off your child without checking to see if we are open or closed.
Regarding Mass attendance:
Fr. Wayne and Fr. Tom welcome the Parishioners of Sacred Heart and Most Holy Redeemer to attend
their parishes' weekly Masses. At the Holy Family Center, we believe to that the classes will be of
no benefit if the children are not attending Mass regularly. Your child's participation at special
gatherings Masses scheduled throughout the CCD year is an integral part of his/her spiritual
development. The monthly calendar will keep you informed of these special Masses.
