Services for Catechetical Leaders
The Office of Religious Education provides parish catechetical leaders with information to enhance their ministry including:

In addition, the Office sponsors days of professional updating and enrichment for catechetical leaders.
Hispanic Catechist Training
Educadores de la Fe
- An extensive program intended to assist the participants to exercise para-professional catechetical leadership roles within the community, will be offered through AIM (the Archdiocesan Institute for Ministry)Curso Báscio de Formación de Catequistas and Curso Intermedio de Formación de Catequistas programs of theology and methods sponsored by the O.R.E are prerequisites for Educadores de la Fe.
Spiritual Formation
The Office of Religious Education sponsors Days of Prayer for those involved in catechetical ministry.
Resource Center
The Resource Room is open Monday through Friday, from 9:00 A.M. until 4:45
P.M. We are located on the chapel floor of Bishop Peterson Hall on the
Chancery campus in Brighton, next to Saint John's Seminary
Texts
New and revised religious Texts (K-Adult) are available for
examination in the Resource Room. The ORE no longer stocks catechetical
text books for sale, but, if you are considering changing series or want to look
at what's available for sacrament preparation, come in to the Office and
browse.
Reference Materials
Books and periodicals in areas of theology, liturgy and methods for religious educators are additional resources for Christian formation and catechist development. Books on these topic are also available in the resource room. The General Directory for Catechesis is available for purchase ($19.95). Every parish Religious Education Office should have a copy of this new book!
Media Library
Films and video materials covering a broad area of religious educational needs are available for rental from the media library of the O.R.E. They are listed according to religious category and relevant age levels.
A Catalogue of VHS Video Cassette Tapes in Archdiocesan Media Collection is available for purchase ($5.00).
Catechists and catechetical leaders can visit the Resource Room to preview videos. If there is a particular video you wish to view, call the Office to speak with Victor Rios or Debbie Costa. They handle video and film reservations and can tell you if the video you wish to see is available.
