“Lord, Teach us to Pray:” The Discipline of Prayer
Fr. Matt Williams:
Director of the Office for New Evangelization
Our culture thrives on emotion, and often uses it as a way to make judgments.  Love is often described by the emotions one “feels” for another, and faith is commonly judged by the closeness one “feels” with God.  Thus a critical error in thought could emerge:  “if I don’t have feelings, then I don’t have love and I don’t have faith!” Nothing could be further from the truth.  Teaching young people the discipline of prayer will free and empower them to a higher form of love and practice of faith. This workshop will present the effective ways we can mentor young people in the discipline of prayer.
