are responsible for the development of rules, guidelines and criteria regulating the qualification and procedure relative to the <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#669900" FACE="Arial" >Chao/Hines VSPACE="0">Scholarship Committee<FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Arial" > members are responsible for the recruitment and evaluation of eligible candidates for the </FONT><FONT SIZE="2" <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" >Scholarship Committee</FONT> must be members of BCCC.</div> <div> <IMG BORDER="0" SRC="Symb075c00b700c800000000.gif" HEIGHT="13" WIDTH="24" ALIGN="bottom" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0">Service on the <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" >Scholarship Committee</FONT> is voluntary and members are recruited from BCCC by the standing <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" >Scholarship Committee.</FONT>   There must be a member from the <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" >Mandarin Speaking Groups</FONT> and the <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" >Youth Group</FONT> represented on the <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" >Scholarship Committee.</FONT></div> <div> <IMG BORDER="0" SRC="Symb075c00b700c800000000.gif" HEIGHT="13" WIDTH="24" ALIGN="bottom" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0">Applicant information must be kept confidential and will be released only upon a request by the applicant himself or herself and only to review his or her own individual file.</div> <div> <IMG BORDER="0" SRC="Symb075c00b700c800000000.gif" HEIGHT="13" WIDTH="24" ALIGN="bottom" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0">The Co-Chairs are elected by the standing <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" >Scholarship Committee.</FONT></div> <div> <IMG BORDER="0" SRC="Symb075c00b700c800000000.gif" HEIGHT="13" WIDTH="24" ALIGN="bottom" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0">The responsibility of the Co-Chairs is to coordinate all the activities of the <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" >Scholarship Committee</FONT> including but not limited to:  setting up committee meetings, updating and copying of scholarship forms and information, facilitating meetings, mailing out scholarship information, notification of committee decisions to all applicants, attending BCCC Council meetings, and organizing other outreach, publicity, or such related activities.</div> <div> <IMG BORDER="0" SRC="Symb075c00b700c800000000.gif" HEIGHT="13" WIDTH="24" ALIGN="bottom" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0">In addition to attending scholarship meetings and evaluating candidates, at-large members of the <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" >Scholarship Committee</FONT> are responsible to help with some aspect of outreach, publicity and/or such related activities.</div> <div> <IMG BORDER="0" SRC="Symb075c00b700c800000000.gif" HEIGHT="13" WIDTH="24" ALIGN="bottom" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0">Expenses connected with the <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" >Scholarship Committee</FONT> shall be reimbursed by BCCC.</div> <div> <IMG BORDER="0" SRC="Symb075c00b700c800000000.gif" HEIGHT="13" WIDTH="24" ALIGN="bottom" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0">There must be a minimum of 5 members on the <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" >Scholarship Committee,</FONT> including the Co-Chairs.</div> <div> <IMG BORDER="0" SRC="Symb075c00b700c800000000.gif" HEIGHT="13" WIDTH="24" ALIGN="bottom" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0">A judging panel, consisting of a minimum of 5 members, shall be drawn from the <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" >Scholarship Committee,</FONT> to evaluate scholarship applications and to select award recipients.  The judging panel must include one representative each from the <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" >Mandarin Speaking Groups</FONT> and the <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" >Youth Group.</FONT></div> <div> <IMG BORDER="0" SRC="Symb075c00b700c800000000.gif" HEIGHT="13" WIDTH="24" ALIGN="bottom" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0">In any given year, if any member of the judging panel is perceived to be in conflict of interest due to his/her relationship with an applicant, that member shall remove himself/herself from the judging panel.  Another member of the <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" >Scholarship Committee</FONT> shall replace the judge, if needed to maintain the minimum number required on the panel.  Any replacement of a judge must maintain the <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" >Mandarin Speaking Groups'</FONT> and the <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" >Youth Group's</FONT> representation within the judging panel.  In the event that it is not possible to maintain the requirements put forth in the previous item, qualified replacement(s) shall be appointed from the BCCC community to maintain such requirements for
