             Manufacturing Altar Breads
        The manufacture of altar breads is our main source of income. Our life is simple and frugal - our needs are few and simple.... the privilege of making Altar breads fits in well with the daily rhythm in Our Lives as Full Contemplatives

   The batter is poured onto hot metal plates where it is baked into precise thin sheets

  Approximately 20,000 Altar breads are sorted each week by this simple method.

Historic photo - The breads are then placed in plastic bags, sealed, packed and
dispatched to the various Parishes.
A special 'contract' with Australia Post makes this a simple process for us.
